Fun Facts
I've taught adults and children of all ages. What might be surprising is what I've taught. In addition to public education curriculum, I've taught Oracle systems, Microsoft software applications, and knitting. I also craft and design interesting things from glass and design knitting patterns.
About Me
I'm currently teaching secondary English and secondary science. As a life long learner, I am always taking classes. I have taken valuable courses to support my career as educator from CSU, UNC, Adams State College, DU, MSCD, and UCDenver. My latest endeavor is to complete a master's degree in linguistically diverse educaiton.
Working as a professional educator is immensely rewarding. I've had the opportunity to work with every grade level from kindergarten to senior high school, and supported students of differing abilities. I'm trained in numerous math and ELA programs designed to facilitate and improve student performance in practice and on exams.
My philosophy is that engagement is key. Spending time to determine a student's interests and successful methods of learning and expression is essential. My passions surface when I'm teaching English and Science. I can't help but get excited and excitement is contagious. The ability to differentiate to suit a student, plus creativity and passion means learning is a happy experience which feels "right" for the student. Proven patience and management skills ensure the student knows they and their improvement is valued and respected by me which results in success.
