Fun Facts

One fun fact about me is that I love to try new things: be it cooking, baking, or learning a new sport. I have an older sibling who is currently prepping for the medical school entrance exam. When I am not bothering him, I am watching videos on YouTube, frequently coding, reading a book (sometimes), organizing my room, gardening, or doing something productive.

About Me

I am currently a senior in high school, and I will be attending Barnard College of Columbia University in the city of New York this fall. In high school, I was active in cross country track, president of Mock Trial and Model UN team, and carried out independent biochemistry research. I hope to major in biomedical engineering or be on the pre-med track.I truly aspire to do something in the field of STEM in the future.

Experience

As the president of the Mock Trial Club, I had the opportunity to work efficiently with my team members and develop interpersonal communication and leadership skills. I took the initiative to collaborate with members to propose direct/cross-examinations and worked a multitude of objects and public speaking skills. I hope to use this skill set to deliver and tutor here at 'Frog Tutoring'

Approach

As a member of the National Honor Society, I had the opportunity to tutor kids after school in subjects varying from math to history. I like to take a "step approach," ensuring the student understands every concept as I explain it in chunks. For instance, instead of simply spoon-feeding the answers to the student, I like to provide practice problems staggered towards the topic, give them allotted time to attempt the questions, and together go over the steps to derive the solution.

Algebra Tutoring

I have taken Algebra/Precalculus in the sophomore year of my high school career. I have also taken AP Calculus BC and can easily teach preliminary concepts required in Algebra I, II, or III.

AP Chemistry Tutoring

I have taken AP Chemistry in my sophomore year of my high school year. I scored a 4 on the AP Exam and will be glad to teach concepts like Titration, Acids & Bases, Equilibrium, Kinetics, etc.

AP English Tutoring

I have taken AP Literature in the senior year of high school. I also have experience with World Literature, Literature II & III, and Creative Writing.

Biology Tutoring

I have taken Biology Honors in the sophomore year of my high school and had a high A. I also have experience with AP Biology and scored a 4/5 on the exam.

Biology AP Tutoring

I have taken AP Biology in the junior year of my school ad scored a 4 on the exam. I have accumulated several notes and can share tips on strategies to tackle the AP exam while going over any content.

Calculus Tutoring

I have recently finished AP Calculus BC Course in my senior year. I have always had a high A in the class and would be glad to teach concepts such as Integration, Differentiation, Series & Sequences, Limits & Continuity, etc. I have also scored a 780 on the Math Level II SAT subject test and an 800 on the SAT math section.

I have taken AP Chemistry in my sophomore year of my high school year. I scored a 4 on the AP Exam and will be glad to teach concepts like Titration, Acids & Bases, Equilibrium, Kinetics, etc.

Computer Science Tutoring

I have taken AP Computer Science A and have mastered the language of JAVA. I am comfortable with Arrays, ArrayLists, Inheritance, Iteration, Classes & Objects, etc. I am also in the process of learning JAVA this summer.

Geometry Tutoring

I have taken Geometry Honors in the freshman year of my high school career. I received the highest average certificate in that class and would be glad to teach concepts like Writing Proofs, Triangles, Area/Volume of objects, Similarity, etc.

Government Tutoring

I have taken AP United States Government in the senior year of my high school career. I have held a consistent A in the class and can teach concepts such as Supreme Court Cases, Civil Liberties, Civil Rights, American Political Party System, etc.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

I have taken Pre-Calculus in the junior of my high school career and received the 'highest average' award. I also have experience with AP Calculus BC and can provide better guidance.

SAT Math Tutoring

I have scored a perfect 800 in the Math section of the SAT. I have taught myself strategies and used essential books that I can pass down. Over the course of the summer, I made myself a study guide and did plenty of practice tests to improve.

Spanish I Tutoring

I have completed Spanish 1 in the freshman year of my high school career and though not a native, I am familiar with this language for 8+ years. I have also currently finished AP Spanish Course with a high A.

Study Skills Tutoring

Study skills are essential and are never taught in school; students are merely supposed to personalize their schedule to pass tests, quizzes, etc. I am the top 5% of a competitive high school in NJ and can share some skills I have developed along the way.

Writing Advance Tutoring

I have exposed myself to Literature II & III, World Literature, and AP Literature. I have also developed a firm writing skillset and can share techniques to make essays flow better and brush up on syntax.
