Fun Facts
I am very passionate about language learning, health, fitness, and self-improvement. If I am not teaching English then I am learning Spanish. Every day I try to do something active whether it is riding my bike, kickboxing, running, or improving my flexibility. Most of my days are ended on the couch with a good book and a glass of Malbec. I believe that self-improvement and relaxation are holy grails to having a better quality of life.
About Me
I am currently still in college. I graduated in 2017 with my certificate in Physical Education-Personal Training. Through this experience, I discovered my love of teaching. I am now soon going into my Jr. year working towards my bachelor's in Literature with teaching grades 7-12 supplemental. I was awarded the Spring 2019 Faculty Award of Excellence for outstanding achievements and contributions during the semester. My goal is to become a certified English teacher while working for my masters.
Experience
I have a little over a year of experience as an English online tutor. In 2019 I volunteered in the HOSTS (helping other students to succeed) program to tutor high-risk elementary students. Currently, I am apart of a program to receive my level 5 TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) certification. I am also an active member of PDK-Educators Rising Collegiate to help improve my career by having quality resources.
Approach
I was homeless in high school and really struggled to graduate. There were two teachers who stepped aside from their day to day routine to really show me compassion. They understood that each one of their students had their own story. I needed different attention than the next student. This has stuck with me my whole life. My teaching style is based on this story. I understand that each student has their own needs and their own story. I believe that my teaching style should adapt individually.
