Fun Facts
I'm a real live poet! I'm in graduate school studying poetry, performing my own work, and organizing readings all over the city of Boston. I'm a twin, although my sister lives back home in Indiana where I'm from. I love cats and cooking! I can make just about any dessert, including an excellent souffle. My favorite color is green and sometimes I even dye my hair green.
About Me
I'm a masters student in a very competitive MFA program. I'm fascinated by the complexity of language and strive to read and write with the utmost clarity. Although I grew up in Indiana, I spent most of my childhood in California and have traveled the U.S. extensively. I'm patient and highly creative. I love people and enjoy engaging conversation and problem solving.
I've tutored people of all ages including students of different nationalities. I currently work teaching and boston">tutoring ESL students at UMass Boston. In the past, I tutored mostly reading and writing, assisting in a few elementary school classes. I've also coached academic teams which focuses on study prep and memorization.
I've always enjoyed exploring and approach learning and boston">tutoring through an exploratory lens. For me, it's important that students find the solutions themselves. I want all my students to be impassioned by their development and feel that they can claim ownership of the knowledge they gain. I ask many questions and am very patient. It's important to me that students feel confident in their work, that they view their learning experience as deliberate.
