I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I like listening to music. My interests range from current hits to alternative rock. I have traveled to a number of countries, including to England, Italy, Spain, and Ukraine.

About Me

I went to college at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. While there, I majored in History. I graduated in 2013. I recently moved back to Los Angeles, where I grew up.

Experience

I recently had the opportunity to tutor elementary and junior high students in math for three years. I did so in Allston, MA. I tutored students one-on-one and in groups. Students have said they enjoy having me as a tutor. Before this, I assisted a Montessori School teacher with student activities in Stockbridge, MA. While in Israel, I helped high school students with English speaking skills. Before this, in Ukraine, I worked as a camp counselor for children.

Approach

I have always liked math. And I like helping people. Math tutoring combines the things I like to do. I think math is exciting. I share my enthusiasm with the students I tutor. I tend to lead a student toward an answer by asking them questions about the problem. This helps them learn how to solve the problem better than if they were given the answer more quickly. When I am with a student, I find out what skills they are practicing in class. I then create worksheets for them practice those skills.
