Fun Facts

I am a big fan of operas and musicals and I have sung music in 13 different languages! I have one younger sister and I am currently working on learning to speak the awful German language.

About Me

I graduated from Northwestern University with a BSE in Mechanical Engineering and a BM in Opera in December 2018. At Northwestern, my capstone engineering project was a biomedical device for regulating patients' body temperatures during long surgeries. I was also a crash-safety project lead for NU Solar, a team of students who build solar powered cars. I'm excited to start my MM in opera at UCONN in the fall! My ultimate goal is to integrate my tech side and opera side as an opera set designer.

Experience

At Northwestern, I was a math teacher for STEP, a STEM-focused educational program for middle-school girls. I also developed my teaching skills by directing younger Northwestern students in opera productions and coaching young musicians as a fellowship student at Chamber Music Connection.

Approach

I struggled in elementary and middle school, as do many other students with learning differences. Luckily, I had persistent and wonderful teachers who helped me develop the study-strategies that allowed me to succeed at a very high level of academics. I want to help other students do the same!
