About Me
I am the eldest of two children. I am married and have a three year old daughter. I resigned from teaching about three years ago to become a stay at home mom. I am enjoying the opportunity to be with my child as she develops into this amazing person.
I have ten years teaching experiences. I taught English at the high school, elementary, and tertiary levels. I am presently volunteering at Literacy Advance of Houston as an ESL houston">tutor. In August 2010, I volunteered as an ESL Intermediate houston">tutor at House of Amos, Boone Road, Houston, Tx. In the evenings.
I have a Master's Degree in Education with a major is Literacy, a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a minor in English, and a Texas Language Arts teacher certification. I have also received training in ESL test administration and teaching.
I believe that all students have the potential to excel at school. Students learn differently; therefore, facilitators need to provide students with relevant concepts and effective learning techniques. Students need to be directly engaged in their learning process.
As a teacher/houston">tutor, I used the student-center and inclusive approaches. If necessary, I will do mini-lessons and oral quizzes for clarification purposes.
