Fun Facts

I have been two Uganda, a country in east Africa, twice, and it is my favorite place in the world (besides Philly!). My passions range from math, African history, current events, accounting (yes, accounting), to basketball, especially college - I am a Hoosier after all! I love sports, but my favorite sports are college basketball (Hoosiers), college football (Penn State), and the NFL (Eagles.

About Me

I graduated from the Indiana University - Bloomington Kelley School of Business (ranked #8 in the country by Businessweek) in December 2007 with a 3.77 GPA. After spending 5 years in public accounting as a CPA, I felt my life was not having the impact I had hoped, so I quit accounting to join the very selective Teach for America corps, and am currently finishing my first year as a high school math teacher in north Philadelphia.

I am currently a teacher, so I have a great deal of philadelphia">tutoring experience when it comes to philadelphia">tutoring. I currently teach Algebra I, but have tutored many of my students in different subjects, ranging from English to history. I also helped philadelphia">tutor peers for the CPA exam, which is widely considered one of the most difficult professional exams.

Every student has their own set of skills - the key is figuring out how those skills can translate to the subject requiring philadelphia">tutoring. Most students lack confidence in subjects they struggle with because they have rarely experienced success, but if you can leverage their strengths to diminish, and eventually erase, their weaknesses, the successes and confidence will follow.
