Fun Facts

I did not travel outside of the state of Florida until I was a freshman in college. Once that happened, I have gained a love to travel all of the world. I love to sing. In high school, I was in chorus, sung at Disney, and competed competitively in state competitions. I am writing songs for most of the day. I play the piano and ukelele. I also enjoy dancing. It could be anything from salsa to swing to hip-hop.

About Me

I am a certified elementary school teacher. I am certified to teach K-6 grade. I taught 3rd grade for 2 years. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from the University of Florida. I also have a certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I loved to laugh and learn with my students. I was known for my energy and joy. I taught with a smile no matter the subject that was covered. My favorite moments are when kids see that they can learn and teach others. It was amazing.

Experience

I had the opportunity to teach in many elementary school settings in and out of school at the University of Florida. I also tutored for several years, and lead small groups for students in reading and mathematics. In terms of English, I have spent months overseas teaching English to native Spanish Speakers, German Speakers, and Kurdish speakers.

Approach

My tutoring approach varies from student to student. Everyone is so diverse, and I choose to meet students where they are. I want to students to feel encouraged and supported in their learning. I loved school growing up, but I was not always the first one to understand something! I know that is perfectly fine because my teachers developed in me the mindset that I could grow and learn as long as I worked hard and believed in myself. I know that every student can be successful.
