A passion I have is sports; I love watching sports especially hockey. I grew up playing sports like soccer and softball. I am learning to cook more. I love baking but have been cooking more homemade dinners like zucchini tacos and chicken tortilla soup.

About Me

I have been a math teacher for 7 years. I am from Texas but moved to Seattle, WA last summer. I graduated from Texas Tech University.

Experience

I have taught middle school math, algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, and a college level dual credit high school class. Before I became a teacher, I was a tutor to elementary school aged students.

Approach

I have always loved math and was good at it through out school. When I got into college, I struggled but I wanted to become a math teacher to help students who don't like math and who think they are not good at it. As a teacher, I showed all students that they can be good at math, but some may learn faster than others which is okay. I help students understand the why we use math and why it is important. In math, it is sometimes more important to learn the process and not just get the answer.
