I love being outdoors, hiking, running, playing sports. I am an avid reader. I have taken up chess again after not playing for a while; I am not great, but my game is definitely improving. Finally, I love spending time with my daughter, who will start kindergarten this year!

About Me

I have taught Psychology at the college level for 7 years, with a focus on general psychology, research methods, and statistics. I love both the complex mathematics and the real-world application of statistics.My goal is to impart this to students.

Experience

I tutored elementary, middle school, and high school students for several semesters,focusing on math and study skills in the elementary years, and have included science and test prep (math, reading, and science)for middle school students - including the SHSAT. I have taught the same subjects for high school students, with the difference being the extent of the test prep. I have also helped high school students write essays to gain submission into elite programs.

Approach

I have always loved mathematics, but i noticed at an early age that many of my peers had trepidation.with this subject. So, I helped them grasp the concepts. This helped me greatly as I became an educator, as even college students have a fear of math. My first step is to instill confidence - they are capable, and I believe two heads are better than one. This has also carried over to general study skills and other subjects, as well as test prep.
