About Me
I'm a sophomore at the maryland">University of Maryland Baltimore County majoring in Public Health with a 4.0gpa. I'm a member of student government and serve as vice-chair of the Finance Board. After I graduate I plan to attend medical school.
Experience
In high school during my junior and senior year as a member of the National Honors Society I served as a tutor during my lunch break once a week. During college for my second semester I was a was a writing fellow for English 100 classes where I helped facilitate peer review discussions between students and help them with their papers. In conjunction to being a writing fellow I'm a peer tutor for student athletes at my university.
Approach
I've worked with many students who come from different backgrounds and have different needs from hearing impaired students to multilingual students. The biggest takeaway that learned is that you have to meet each student at their level and make them feel comfortable. Often times students struggle more with a subject because of self-doubt so remaining positive and complementing students on what they do well really helps them to build confidence.
