I grew up in the central valley of northern California and currently live in San Francisco, where I have been for 9 years. About Me
I am a student at City College of San Francisco, taking my last couple of classes before transferring to complete my bachelor's in Applied Mathematics. During this time I maintained a 4.0 GPA while working full time in management at a couple of successful restaurants in downtown San Francisco. Having worked so closely with people all my life, I really enjoy forming a connection and developing success with clients. After school, I plan to continue studying and taking actuarial exams.
Experience
Through my time at CCSF, I have worked closely with classmates in mathematics classes to coordinate study sessions and develop a successful group environment. I have also volunteered in an elementary school, working with kids in math, and helping them overcome any anxieties around it. My work experience has helped me develop strong interpersonal skills which allow me to successfully navigate my way around social situations and ensuring they an encouraging, nurturing environment is in place.
Approach
From my experience of having some inspiring educators, I work closely with the client to develop a comfortable relationship and learn their motivations. Maintaining rapport with students allows me to foster a motivating, fearless environment which enables assessment of strengths and weaknesses, and learning their way of understanding. Through this assessment and fostering a supportive learning environment, I am able to get to the root of any deficiency and increase the student's confidence.
