Fun Facts

One passion that I have is ballet and learning the history of ballet. I love being outdoors and taking long roadtrips. I taught myself to speak Russian and I love to go to concerts. I ran an events team at my school and I was always known around campus as the "dance girl" because I brought lots of energy, but I was terrible at dancing. My biggest dream is to visit every country in the world and to learn most of the worlds languages.

About Me

I am graduating this fall from George Fox University with a degree in Intercultural Sociology and a minor in French. When I graduate I hope to pursue a career in translating for victims of trafficking in court. I have made the Deans list two years in a row and I tutored French III students at my university. I hope to pursue my doctorates in linguistics and one day either work for the NSA or the UN as a translator

Experience

I am working on obtaining my certificate in TESOL in order to teach others languages. I tutored the French students at my university for a year. I taught adults to speak English when they came only speaking Spanish and I am able to put together lesson plans. I was a nanny for two years and I had to teach as well as correct homework. I am very good at what I do and given the chance I could prove it.

Approach

I have had many teachers, some of which were great and some who were horrendous. I have been able to refine the best way to teach through experience and through learning teaching techniques in my TESOL courses. I believe in teaching through encouragement and allowing the student to gain independence and confident in themselves. I want to be able to teach them the content, but also the study skills so they do not rely on me for answers
