Fun Facts

One passion I have is animals, any chance I get to foster or take care of an animal I take it. Beyond caring for other animals I have a dog of my own, his name is Finn.With Finn I love going on walks and taking him to the dog park. Another passion of mine is music, when I was younger I took drum lessons and played the trumpet. I also have a passion for sports, which I played basketball until my senior year in high school. Someday, I hope to coach a basketball tea of my own one day.

About Me

I recently graduated from Liberty University online with my Bachelors in Psychology. Currently I am working on my Masters of Education in School Counseling, in hopes one day to be a high school level School Counselor. I gained my passion with working with high schoolers through my job as an AVID tutor. Although I currently reside in California I plan to move to San Antonio Texas with my soon to be husband who will be enlisting in the Air Force.

Experience

As previously stated I had the amazing opportunity to work with high schoolers in a one on one or group setting as an AVID tutor, where I maintained this position for four years. As a tutor I was not only responsible of tutoring students in multiple subject areas but also, kept track of students grades, helped with origination skills, all to promote student success. Alongside of AVID tutoring I would offer personal tutoring to classmates in my mathematic courses I took at Community College.

Approach

Early on in my childhood I found out that I have a gift in Mathematics as I had to placed in Advance classes in this subject. As one of the oldest (I am a twin) in my family I witnessed my siblings struggling in Math and took upon myself to tutor them. Then in middle school and high school other students started coming to me for help in Math. I feel that it is in my nature to help students in math, not only by tutoring but helping them find ways that the material will be comprehensible.
