I was a national speech and debate competitor in high school, I qualified for several national competitions like NSDA and NIETOC. I was public speaking captain for 3 years and taught public speaking skills to high school students. This past year I worked as a speech consultant for a high school debate team.

About Me

Hello, I'm Anjali! I am a sophomore at Cornell University, I am a business and pre-law major. I love reading, economics, math, and public speaking. Throughout high school and freshman year of college, I capitalized on my reading and public speaking skills by pursuing organizations like speech and debate and Distributive Education Clubs of America. Now I'd like to apply my skills to helping younger students prosper in subjects that they see as a challenge. I believe that in every challenge there.

Experience

I have two years of tutoring experience. I worked for Harmony X Tutor. I worked with several different age groups, ranging from pre-schoolers to 9th graders. Most days I worked with middle schoolers and taught math and English. I did one on one tutoring with the students that were behind in classes (due to the pandemic), but I also did group tutoring at times. I gave extra time and attention to the students that had learning disabilities like ADHD.

Approach

My biggest goal as a tutor is to build a connection with my student. I want my student to feel safe and comfortable so that they are open to asking me questions whenever they need.
