Fun Facts
My fun fact is that I love fun facts! My friends always call me "The Sponge" because I love learning new things and sharing them with people. I particularly love food science and history. I am obsessed with the old show, "Good Eats" that was on the Food Network in the 90's. Did you know that most people with peanut allergies can still eat peanut oil! I also love music history, especially the punk movement. I'm a very proud Korean American and military child.
About Me
I am a recent arts conservatory graduate that has a passion for education and working with students one- on- one. I've also worked in the film industry functionally my whole life now and passionately care about artistic cultivation and communication. The tutors and coaches that I was lucky enough to have made such a difference in my life and development and I'd love to be able to offer the same to anyone who wants it.
Experience
I have worked as a teaching assistant for two years in higher education as well as having worked as an admissions officer for four years. I graduated at the top of my class from university, summa cum laude, with an honors distinction for my thesis. I've gone through very competitive, blue ribbon schooling since I was in middle school. I know the ins and outs of educational standards for almost all major subjects and test prep. I've tutored Korean American students in ESL for much of my life.
Approach
I believe everyone has the right to be wrong and no one should be penalized for needing to learn something! I am incredibly patient and am a great communicator. I can be really flexible to how a student learns and adjust how I am communicating information easily. I'm great with metaphors and drawing comparisons to parallel ideas the student already grasps.
