Fun Facts
I have a huge extended family with 30 first cousins and counting. I like to be as active as I can, but I can easily become a homebody because I am not a fan of summer. I am open to trying new things but I definitely like to things through before doing something so it will be a long time before I go bungee jumping. I had organized The Make a Wish dance at my high school with two other clubs in order to raise money for the Make a Wish foundation and was able to raise at least 6500 dollars!
About Me
I am a freshman at City College in New York City and I just graduated from Fort Hamilton High School's Honors Academy. I am majoring in Political Science with hopes to becoming a lawyer in the future. I've been tutoring students since I was in middle school and I've worked with children ever since and volunteered at a weekend school when I was in High School. I like making tutoring interactive and using visuals because that is how I believe students retain information.
Experience
I've done a variety of things while I was in High School, I was a National Honors Society tutor and I tutored a junior in SAT math and would occasionally help her with trigonometry which was the math subject she was taking at the time. I have also done private tutoring when I has time starting from middle school and I tutored in all subject areas but specifically helped students with their homework.
Approach
I like to figure out the students learning style because it allows for a better understanding of the subject material and there are many different ways to teach a student so my teaching method varies from student to student. Why is more important than what so I think that the method in which something is being learned is important because it can allow students to comprehend and utilize their learning techniques to different things in life so making lessons fun and interactive are a must.
