I am fluent in English and Spanish and I was born and raised in the boarder town of Nogales Arizona. My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, playing sports like soccer, cross country and recently tennis. I love exploring new hobbies as well such as crocheting and scrap-booking.

About Me

I studied in Flagstaff Arizona at Northern Arizona University for my college career for the past 4 years. During my time at NAU I have made the deans list and joined National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I will be graduating Fall 2014 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I have already taken my proficiency exams and will be completing my student teaching during the fall. Once I have completed my student teaching I plan on finding a teaching position in January, which is my main goal.

I have over 300 hours of experience working in a classroom and with students. My mother was an elementary school teacher and I was constantly in her classroom helping out. I have also volunteered for helping students with AIMS preparation for a few years. During that time we would review information that will be on the exam, practicing and teaching where it was needed. For the past year I was in the Professional Development School Program through NAU, which placed me in a classroom three times a week in a mentor teacher classroom. In this placement I had the chance to help the teacher out with what she needed, I was able to practice strategies to teach students and also work with students individually.

I believe that all students are unique individuals and have a unique way of learning. Different people learn differently and instruction should be altered to the students needs. My approach to phoenix">tutoring is getting to know the child and what their interest are so that way they may become self motivated and better engaged in learning the material. I use different methods and approaches based off the child and what suits them. My goal is to be their to help scaffold learning, be supportive and encouraging. Also, my goal is to help the child become confident and independent in their learning/education, so that way the child will learn and know what works for them and how they learn when faced with difficult material.
