I've lived in North Carolina and Texas all my life, but my dreams take me all over the world. I'm an avid reader and my favorite subjects are history, geography, and anthropology. I hope to study abroad someday so I can see all the places and cultures that I'm reading about now.

About Me

I have a Masters of Science in Mathematics from Texas State University at San Marcos. I am currently taking a break from working on my Masters of science/texas/austin">Computer Science at Texas State. I hope to eventually do doctoral work in Geography with a focus in Geographic Information Systems.

Experience

I've been austin">tutoring Math and science/texas/austin">Computer Science since before I left Texas State. It is important for me to keep my mind active and constantly hone my logical skills to prepare for my career as a research scientist. I can think of no better profession than austin">tutoring to stay mentally sharp in the meantime.

Approach

I believe that my students have everything they need to find the solutions to their assignments. They need me to ask them pointed questions and to break down the problem into manageable parts. Leading them to focus on what they know and how this gets them to what they need to know is essential to organizing their thoughts. Reading for comprehension and writing their steps is crucial. Doing Math helps us see why reading and writing is central to civilization.
