About Me
Hi!
My name is Charlie Wan and I am currently a freshman at Emory University on the pre-med track. In the future, I wish to enroll into medical school and eventually become a doctor. I am originally from Houston, Texas.
In High School, I accumulated lots of atlanta">tutoring experience. As a member of the National Honor Society, I tutored many different students at least twice a week in a variety of subjects. Also, I tutored privately for students that went to my church. Their parents often called me to ask if I could atlanta">tutor their child in certain subjects. Throughout my many years of atlanta">tutoring, I have always thought of it as very enjoyable and a great job.
As a student, I understand the academic difficulties that all students face in their subjects. It is my job as a atlanta">tutor to make sure that students overcome these difficulties to their entirety. When I atlanta">tutor a subject, I do not just go on and on about the concepts, it is very important that I monitor how well the student is following the lesson. If I see that a student is struggling, I never want to rush past that detail. I try to teach in a manner that covers the subject in different ways, so that the student can approach his struggles in a way that he understands and is able to solve it. The way I make sure my students understand is that I constantly engage them in the subject. From asking them questions to testing them, it is my ultimate goal that they understand what they have troubles with.
Finally, I believe the most important quality for a atlanta">tutor is that the atlanta">tutor himself must understand the subject fully. In each of the subjects I have listed above, I have received very high grades in those classes. In all of the AP exams I listed, I have received a four or five on the AP test. Also, I scored very high in the ACT and SAT.
