Fun Facts
Probably the most interesting and non evident fun fact about me is that I am an Iron Man fanatic! I love all of the Iron Man movies and still currently read Iron Man comics, I am sure this partly has to do with my love of engineering. Another fun fact about me that is the foundation for my love of mechanical engineering is my love for cars.
About Me
I am currently a third year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of California, San Diego. I have maintained a 3.95 GPA while maintaining a productive work schedule that currently includes being a Mechanical Engineering Tutor at UCSD. After graduating I plan to pursue a career in Automotive Engineering or a career related to the Energy industry.
Being the son of an elementary school principal I have always understood the value of tutoring and teaching. As a high school student I worked for an elementary after school program where I helped and tutored over 20 students daily. I held my position at the after school program after graduation and during college up until I relocated to attend UCSD. After relocating my passion for tutoring and helping others continued and still continues as i am currently a Mechanical Engineering tutor for the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UC San Diego. Frog tutoring will further my ability to fulfill my passion for tutoring as i will not only be able to tutor my peers and colleagues at UCSD It will enable be to once again tutor and help the youth and future of academia.
As an Engineering student I am taught not to simply know how to do an analysis or a problem but to also know the underlying concept and reasoning behind the solution. I believe this mentality is the key to success in all academics and is the foundation for my tutoring approach. It is not enough to merely give a student an answer or to ensure that they know how to arrive at a solution, it is the actual understanding of the material that is important. As an engineering tutor however i learned that although it is important to understand the baseline concepts another vital necessity to learning is the importance of learning the material itself. In order to truly learn the material and to retain the knowledge one must first understand the importance of what they are learning.
