Fun Facts

A secret passion that I have is painting on blank canvases. I am a novice artists, but I always think of myself as the next Picasso. I am the only child and I am terrified of birds!!! This is something that I have recently tried to overcome because I love traveling to the beach, and they are everywhere!

About Me

I am a junior Biomedical Engineering student at Florida A&M University. My engineering school is joint with FSU at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, so I can attend both universities. Once I obtain my undergraduate degree I plan on continuing on to graduate school. My ultimate goal is the improve the standards of living by researching and developing. I also want to start my own engineering firm as well as an independent research center within my firm.

Experience

As a member of the Educating Engineering Students Innovatively program, I am always giving the opportunity to give back. This is something that I value, I always mentor incoming freshmen who are in the Engineering LLC (Living Learning Community), that I started out in my freshmen year. With mentoring I also volunteering in the community room, where I assisted with entry level engineering courses including, math up to Calculus III, chemistry up to organic, and English and elective type courses.

Approach

As a student before secondary school, I always tried to assist classmates who had a difficult time understanding concepts. I notice that most times people just need help better understanding concepts. Once that understanding is established it becomes easier to apply to their work. I am also very observant and have an ability to approach problems from multiple perspectives. My goal as a tutor is to inspire students and also help them build confidence in themselves when it comes to their studies.
