I am extremely active and consistently pursue new challenges. Also an avid hiker, recreational tennis player, and travel enthusiast; not only do I participate in philanthropic activities in nutrition, but also establish non-profit ministries in improving homes. Some people dream of success, while others work hard and work at it. I, for one, always strive for the best of success - whether in the sports field, in my career, or within the lives of others as a structural fire engineer and educator.

About Me

As a PhD student and as a minority in my field, I continually strive to spearhead success in the computer science, mathematics, and engineering fields. What inspired me most was my experience as a Sloan/McNair scholar where I participated in service events and presented in conferences. I am a Professional Structural, Civil, and Fire Protection Engineer and Real Estate Broker. With my education and experience, I hope to aspire to use my faculties to advance building codes and student learning.

Experience

I have learned technical skills necessary for tutoring students in various fields that will allow me to effectively engage others' educational needs. With this, I have certifications in computer software that may be helpful in teaching. I have 7 years experience as a teaching assistant in Cal Poly/UCSD where I created lesson plans, conducted lectures and computer labs, and held Zoom teleconference for online learning. I decided to become a tutor in hopes of educating the next generation.

Approach

I have worked in culturally diverse populations and am accustomed to challenges that come with being on top of issues related to culture, race, religion, age, gender, and disability. One of the reasons that I love working here is that I get the opportunity to grow and learn as I help others via keeping an open mind and remaining up to date on conversations that are happening within various groups. As an educator, my approach is be empathetic with others' needs so they can find their own value.
