I spent a great deal of my childhood with my parents in Maryland and Virginia, so I grew up in love with DMV (Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC) and Math.

About Me

I am a senior Business Administration major at maryland">University of Maryland. When I graduate, I will pursue my career as a business analyst. My ultimate goal is to become a Certified Scrum Master and Math Teacher

Experienced in working with and teaching children ages 13-40 has prepared me to work with any age group. I’m a professional private tutor with 7 years of diverse experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, ages, education and skill levels. Because of this wide range of experiences, I'm very adaptable, and work well with just about anyone.I work to help students not only learn to do problems, but to understand them, and in doing so, hope to convey some appreciation for their beau

Approach

My tutoring style is patient, flexible, supportive and highly communicative. I tend to emphasize principles and concepts over rules and memorization. I use metaphor, analogy, pictures, and words as much as symbols and equations to both explain material and help solve problems. I try to help students get away from a plug-and-chug mentality; the ability to effectively select and use the right tools for a problem follows from a solid understanding of the concepts involved, and not the other way around.
