Fun Facts
One thing people know about me is I love children. I am the second oldest (oldest girl) of 14 children and have been working with the youth for 7 years. I am from Detroit, Michigan but am now in Alabama for school. My favorite hobbies are writing music, singing, and dancing.
About Me
I am a senior Criminal Justice (juvenile justice) major at Alabama State University. I have been on the dean's list three times, and plan to do it a fourth. My goal is to open my own youth homes across the country to help troubled juveniles find there way.
Experience
During my high school career I was granted the opportunity to team up with Lear Corporations and Detroit public schools to become a certified tutor for grades k-8. After tutoring for 2 years I went on to work as a camp counselor at the YMCA, I have been with The Y for almost 4 years now, in three different locations. Working for Frog Tutoring allows me to reopen those doors and connect with more students to give greater impacts.
Approach
In middle school I started to notice I needed extra help in subjects like Math and Science. I didn't have tutoring as an option in a public school and I always wished I had extra help. By the eighth grade I was blessed with an English teacher who loved to teach all subjects. She once told me "there is no subject that stops a child from becoming a genius, but there is always a lesson to teach the genius." As a tutor I'll show my students they are all geniuses, we'll ace these classes together.
