Fun Facts

I love learning about others' cultures and/or personality traits! Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is something I try to be intentional about, as tact, tone, and delivery can be more important than the content itself. I am a native New Yorker who enjoys all types of music - from country to rap to musical theater! I also love to travel and am looking forward to when travel restrictions can (safely) be removed.

About Me

I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (2019) and I am now working at a Management Consulting Consulting firm. I love all things people and culture related! I studied French and Consumer Psychology at school, but have a strong interest in History, Sociology, Counseling, Writing, Algebra! My ultimate goal is to be a user researcher so that I can better anticipate the needs of humans/societal groups and pinpoint which technology can mitigate certain frustrations or pain points.

Experience

While in college, I tutored West Philly students from West Africa who were learning English for the very first time. Additionally, I was hired by the university's French Department to tutor students who were having a hard time retaining the lessons taught in the classroom. I enjoy breaking out hard-to-understand concepts in a digestible way!

Approach

While memorization and re-reading have their place, I believe that learning should be dynamic in nature! As a tutor, I like to gauge my student's level of understanding instead of waiting for a few weeks (or even months!) to realize they missed a concept. While retention can be checked via an examination, I like to see how students relay concepts learned via conversation, a few "Check Point Questions", and real-life examples of application.
