Fun Facts
One of my favorite things to do it horseback ride. I have been riding horses for over nine years and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have been to countless horseshoes and cow clinics, and I love sharing my love of horses by helping with the summer horse camps at my barn!
About Me
I graduated from Gonzaga University in 2015 with a degree in Biology and as a certified teacher in Elementary Education and Biology Education.
After graduation I became a 4th grade teacher! I have been teaching 4/5 and 4th grade for the past 3 years, and am lucky enough to get to focus on STEM and science in my teaching. I have a passion for science, and teaching and am lucky to have a job that lets me do both!
Teaching has taught me that there is no one approach that works for every student or person. I realize that students are individuals who all learn in their own unique way. When I work with students I like to get to know them so that I can see how they learn and how I can best meet their needs. I then try my best to help them where they struggle and encourage them where they are successful.
Experience
I have been teaching for the past 3 years. I have taught 4/5 and 4th grade. I am experienced at working with students in all modalities. Teaching means that you must be able to teach a whole classroom of students a concept, and also work with students one-on-one to meet their individual needs. I teach all elementary subjects, but am lucky enough to get to focus on science. This year I am even designing a new science curriculum that I know will meet my students needs a class, and as individuals.
Approach
As I teacher, I know that students learn best when their individual learning needs can be met. This means that my approach will vary depending on the student I am working with and their individual needs. Once I get to know a student I can adjust my teaching in a way that will work best for them.

In high school I also took AP biology, so I am versed with the course and the content.

I have taught all units of 4th and 5th grade science, I am also familiar with the science units in the lower grades Also, as an elementary I am quite good at making science concepts understandable for young scientists.
