Fun Facts
I am a HUGE gamer. I've been playing video games for about 14 years now since I started high school, mostly PC gaming. I go to BlizzCon every year to see my friends from around the world, some of them even coming from as far as Sweden and Australia! Even though I'm studying Education, I have a huge fascination with medicine and almost took that as a major instead, like my sister.
About Me
I am studying Education, Society, and Human Development at riverside">University of California, Riverside. I hope to learn how to give all students of different ages and backgrounds a successful education and fair opportunities. My long-term goal is to work with the California Department of Education to accomplish those goals!
Experience
After I graduated at my parochial middle school St. Catherine of Siena in Rialto, CA, I helped assist with tutoring the Academic Decathlon team that I was a part of from grades 5-8. After that and working in retail for some time, I worked as an AVID tutor for Wilma Amina Carter High School and a Substitute Clerk Typist for the Rialto Unified School District.
Approach
Much of my influence in teaching and mentoring comes from my academic experience in varying socioeconomic and demographic areas. I studied at a Catholic K-8, Rialto High School, Fullerton City College, and San Bernardino Valley college. Because of this experience, I focus on providing my students a myriad of study options and guidance on how to choose from those options, including: note-taking, memory improvement exercises, study environments, self-diagnosing potential study problems, and more.
