Fun Facts
With the guidance of a few excellent mentors, I was top of my class in AP English and Economics when I graduated from Los Osos high school, in my hometown of Rancho Cucamonga Ca. I chose to pursue an English Major in college because I love to read and write my own short stories in my free time. Outside of academics, I pride myself on being a huge movie buff and try to sneak a good quote into a conversation whenever possible. On the weekends, you'll most likely catch me surfing in Pacific Beach.
About Me
I am a SDSU graduate as of May 2014, having completed an English degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.79 (Magna Cum Laude) and a Major GPA of 4.0 in English. I applied to the Peace Corps earlier this year and I have been officially nominated for a deployment in Guyana in August 2015. I plan on teaching English in Guyana and I believe that continuing to tutor students after college will keep me competitive within the Peace Corps program. After returning from Guyana, I hope to find a place in public service and education in addition to obtaining my MFA degree.

During my last semester, as a member of the SDSU honors program, I spent two days a week coaching fellow students on their essay, thesis and fiction writing. Now that I have graduated, I look back on tutoring as one of my favorite aspects of my college career.
I try to establish a friendly and respectful rapport with my student to ensure that we work together towards achieving the same goal, getting that A grade. Through my own education, I have acquired beneficial study habits, reading techniques and memorization tricks that I like to share. Patience and repetition in a private tutoring session supplements what a student misses in a big class setting. Because sessions are generally an hour, I make my time count. I especially find it helpful to leave my student with notes on how to improve their work after tutoring sessions. Every session, it is important to create an outline of their homework so they can complete their work in a timely manner. I know from experience, tutoring and having been tutor
