Fun Facts

I have lived in San Diego my whole life. I love going to the beach, kayaking and riding my bike. I also love traveling. One summer I went to 7 countries. My dream place to visit would be Africa to go on a safari!

About Me

I recently finished my student teaching and received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at San Diego State University. Before that I earned my degree in Liberal Studies, the major for prospect elementary school teachers. My degree specialized in the subject area of science. My professional goal is to find a job as an elementary school teacher.

During my college experience, I had a lot of opportunities to tutor students in grades K-8. As apart of my major I completed 60 hours of service at various local elementary schools. During those hours I tutored students one-on- one and taught small groups. As apart of my student teaching I supported my students learning by providing extra support to students before, during and after school. I learned to differentiate instruction for my students so they could all be successful. I believe that all students are gifted and can learn. As a teacher I create lessons based on the needs of my students. Now that I am tutoring through Frog tutoring I am excited to work children with various needs. I am excited to have the opportunity to watch them grow and learn as their mentor and tutor.

As a tutor it is my responsibility to guide students toward learning. I will achieve this by first creating a positive environment for the child so the student can feel comfortable to ask questions and state their needs as a learner. Next I will help the student organize their homework and set learning goals with the student. Next I will work with the student by teaching or reteaching them in subject area(s). I will ask the student questions, guide them toward the correct answer, and help them study or prepare for the next lesson.
