I am passionate about helping others. I have volunteered in my community with helping people register to vote and those who need help learning English.

About Me

I majored in Sociology and Political Science with a minor in Latino/a Studies. After graduation I worked as a legal assistant and a high school tutor. My ultimate goal is to become an immigration lawyer.

Experience

As a legal assistant, I handled individual cases and created my own timelines. I worked in a team of 5 and learned to manage the inbox and any mail coming in. I also trained new employees, showing them what was to be completed at the end of the day. As a tutor, I helped students manage their time between classes and how to improve their grades. I assisted with teams of 5 more in answering questions using critical thinking.

Approach

Growing up, English was my second language and it was difficult for me to grasp the material in class. I was able to quickly learn and was in spelling bees through elementary school. I even won in 2nd grade! My teachers have always supported me in anything I set my mind to and encourage me to aim high.
