Fun Facts

One passion that seeps through my personality is that I am very passionate about helping others, especially children. To be able to offer my knowledge, what I have learned, experiences and ultimately helping them grow academically or as an intellect is rewarding. I have had experiences working with children volunteering at our local community center as well as teaching after school at my former academy. I am a certified TESOL teacher who have taught students on institutions such AmazingTalker.

About Me

A Junior at Millersville University as a biomedicine student, i realized that was not where my passion lied but only the wishes of my traditional Asian parents. I moved to Portland and have continued my education in marketing. I have also obtained a certification for TESOLand have enjoyed the opportunities that it has to offer. Even in difficult times for everyone, I am staying optimistic and see what the future will bring.

Experience

A member of National Honors Society since i was conducted in 7th grade middle school. I am also a member of PTK Honors society since I was admitted into college. Being apart of these organizations encourage and motivate me to give back to our communities and society. I am a certified tutor on Amazing Talker English as a second language platform and have taught many classes for children at our community center. I am motivated to continue the path proceeding and excited to see where it will lead.

Approach

As an immigrant coming to the U.S. when I was 8 years old with little to no English. I was fortunate to have a strong support systems from my teachers and family. Perspectively, most of my academic decisions were influenced by former teachers and professors. Therefore to be in a position where I will be able to offer my expertise, mentoring as well as influencing, I feel very honored and privileged. I take great seriousness and importance in contributing my knowledge to my mentees' successes.
