Fun Facts
I absolutely love to travel! This last summer I merged my passion for scientific research with the joy of traveling by landing a research abroad position in Switzerland! It was the chance of a lifetime, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I managed to visit neighboring Italy, Austria, and France as well. I hope to visit all seven continents one day. I am a true Austin-ite. I've lived here since I was three years old and experienced K-12 as well as college education here. I enjoy nature, hiking, and the great outdoors.
About Me
I am a senior double major studying at the University of Texas at Austin. I am studying Biomedical Engineering and Biochemistry. When I graduate, I want to attend graduate school and eventually earn a PhD. Ultimately I want to be a researcher solving the world's biomedical problems. I believe I can make a difference in this world by tackling some of the toughest diseases we face, and I look forward to the challenge!
As a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta in high school, I had the opportunity to austin">tutor students struggling in math and science continuously throughout the years. In college, I quickly developed a reputation among the biomedical engineering community as the go-to guy to get help, and I informally tutored dozens of peers to success. I also volunteered my time to austin">tutor freshmen struggling in calculus and other college-level introductory classes. In addition, I became a mentor to two high school students for their science fair project. For a year I taught them the theory and technique of my laboratory, and they went on to place at the National Siemens Competition.
My job as a austin">tutor is not to provide answers or communicate content. My job is to help students help themselves. I firmly believe that EVERY student can grasp EVERY concept, and my job is to get them there. I identify where students are struggling, help them through the rough patch, and use the lesson as an example to teach good study skills and learning habits that will help in ALL subject areas. I am incredibly enthusiastic about learning and I believe that even more than helping a student get through a class or make an A on a test, I can truly inspire students to believe in their own capacity to learn.
