I have taught Middle School Social Studies for over thirty years, and also as an Adjunct Instructor at one of the local Community Colleges. The best way to teach students, or work with them on a one to one basis, is to first motivate them, to get them to want to learn. I use software, games and costumes in the classroom to both individualize what is being taught, and to encourage students.

About Me

I have taught for over 34 years, and hold Master degrees in American History and Latin American Studies. The latter was a graduate degree in Spanish.. I have won awards for creativity in teaching, and use software in the presentation of classroom instruction. I have also found that creativity and a sense of humor are two of the best tools to have when teaching in the classroom.

From 2011-2013, I taught for SurePrep Learning of Scottsdale, AZ. My specialty was teaching organization, along with writing and critical thinking skills. SurePrep is still in business, but state government legislation cut funding to private phoenix">tutoring companies, and SurePrep cancelled its phoenix">tutoring program in the state, though it still has programs in Texas and California. I would still be with them today had it not been for the legislation.

I enjoy working with students in phoenix">tutoring because most are wanting to succeed in a particular area, and are motivated to learn.. I use learning games, and incorporate software and interactive approaches to teaching with the materials provided by the phoenix">tutoring company.
