Fun Facts
I love to cook and I love all types of cuisine. I LOVE all types of music. If I have music on I am the happiest person.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love to travel!
I can cross both eyes, either direction. I can say the alphabet backwards fast.
I also have a strange talent of balancing mops, brooms, and pool sticks on one finger.
About Me
I attended the University of Texas at Arlington and earned my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am certified for 4-8 Math and Science although I still love what I learned in high school. This is my 7th year teaching middle school Math.
Experience
I began tutoring elementary students as a member of the Ready, Set, Teach program when I was in high school. In college, I had the opportunity to tutor both elementary and middle school students during my time student teaching.
Of course, being a teacher I have had plenty of experience tutoring my students. I love providing them extra help and watching them grow.
Approach
I like to encourage a growth mindset in the person I tutor. For example, instead of saying, "I can't do this" think "This is challenging now but I will work at it and improve."
I also believe there is a difference between knowing and understanding the material. I try my best to go in depth to increase understanding.
