Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is that I've always had a passion for cheerleading! In high school, I was captain of the cheer team, and I am now an elementary school cheerleading coach. Creating and teaching routines, choreographing dances, and making custom music mixes for competitions are just a few things I could never get tired of!

About Me

I have always aspired to someday become a teacher. I began my college journey at Loyola chicago">University of Chicago, studying elementary school education. I transferred to Northeastern Illinois University a year later, and decided to change my areas of study to secondary education with a focus on English as well as early childhood education. I resolved to take time to study each grade level because I want to become knowledgable about the educational needs of students of all ages.

Experience

In high school, I was a member of the International Baccalaureate program, IB Student Leadership program, National Honor Society, and a student mentor. In all, I had the opportunity to take advanced classes and learn in a fast paced environment, learn about decision making for the sake of meeting the needs of the entire student body, and tutor and aid lower-classmen settle their academic and emotional needs.

Approach

I've always found happiness in educating an individual about a topic and seeing their eyes light up with excitement. I believe that teaching and learning are two of the most important things in life. Our curiosities and will to understand drive us to become intellectual, successful, and joyful beings. When I speak about learning and knowledge, I am not just speaking about English and math. There are so many things in this world that we should learn about and open our minds to.
