Fun Facts
One of my greatest passions in life is chess. On my free time, I enjoy solving chess puzzles and reading about chess theory. I also occasionally make artwork and listen to music.
About Me
I am a recent graduate of Columbia University with a Bachelor's in Mathematics. I've been on the Dean's list 3 years in a row. I have research experience in algebraic geometry, and I'm also really interested in topology and Euler characteristics. Other interests include artificial intelligence. I am also the founder of ranForest(), a startup whose goal is to improve peoples' relationships with mathematics through games and deconstruction of concepts into fun sized pieces.
Experience
I've tutored since middle school through college, and in many areas. My speciality is mathematics tutoring. I've helped students prepare for the NYC Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) with great success. Additionally I've taught high school freshmen single variable calculus, prepared college students for exams in linear algebra and multivariable calculus, and tutored high school students in algebra I, II, trigonometry, and precalculus.
Approach
My approach builds confidence and challenges the student to achieve that which they never believed they could achieve. It is an approach inspired by chess play--the building of small advantages, a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts that make up a topic, and understanding how to break down problems into manageable pieces.
