Fun Facts

I was a collegiate sprinter and still lift and train as much as I can. I’ve lived in Australia in college. I am a father of two young boys and after a decade of being a high school principal, which started at the age of 28, I began my own consultancy, Educational Wingman.

About Me

Originally from Indiana, I am a father to my two young legacies; my two young boys. As anticipated, no rest for the weary and they are more than worth it. My days as a collegiate sprinter have allowed me to currently keep up with their stride, but that window is quickly closing!

I am an expert architect of organizational culture as seen from the results of my successes reflected through an array of data, such as but not limited to, student proficiency, student growth, teacher instructional effectiveness and retention, and the growth of each school and their ability to increase what is offered to students and families. I value my circle and network, both personal and professional, to the highest degree.

With 17 years of teaching, coaching and leadership experience, including 10 years as a building Principal, I have been told that “In a society where we are continuously told why we can’t, Mr. Gentile always approaches a situation seeking how we can.” This mantra of intentional shifting can be described in the example of “I am not concerned with the rumble, but rather the avalanche”. In the current state of our education, students are the ones shouldering so much of the effects of their world’s actions and as a result, www.EducationalWingman.com was launched.

Experience

I had the fortunate opportunity of being a part of three strong educational environments which ultimately have prepared me to launch my own business as a consultant. At the age of 28, I was a first year HS Principal and we opened the doors to a new school with 12 students. Within five years, our enrollment read 1,200. We created a myriad extra-curricular options to support the school’s vision, which earned multiple state championships, millions in scholarship offers through our fine arts pro

Approach

My philosophy in education is to create a culture of respect and improvement. It is my desire to instill into students the drive and will to want to be better tomorrow than they are today, regardless of obstacles. I strive to assist students in finding passion in a field of their choice while making strides towards success. I feel that character defines an individual. Given this attitude, we help students to achieve in an atmosphere that does not condone excuses for failure. I believe we can all
