Fun Facts

One thing that people realize very quickly after meeting me is that I love to do anything creative, although my career as been more math and science. I love to needlepoint as well as paint and draw. I also love to build furniture and have built dining room tables and multiple dressers. I also am an avid plant lover! I have over 10 plants currently and look at them as my children. Each of them even have names!

About Me

I received academic scholarships to attend the University of Arkansas and started my undergraduate career in 2012 and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry with a focus in Biochemistry in 2016. I currently work at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center as a Research Data Coordinator, and am also a part-time student at Texas Woman's University in the Master's of Healthcare Administration Program. My ultimate goal is to become an executive in Healthcare Administration.

Experience

During my undergraduate career, I was a member of the Pre-Med Honor Society and had the opportunity to tutor students in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, College Algebra, and Calculus I and II. I also volunteered at a local elementary to teach math to elementary age students. Prior to college, I tutored students in Pre-Algebra, Basic Science, Basic Chemistry, as well as the ACT and SAT. I scored a 33 on my ACT and a perfect score of a 36 on both the math/texas/houston">ACT Math and Science sections.

Approach

I have found through my 6 years of tutoring that encouragement and making sure students understand the concept is the most important. I personalize my tutoring to each of my students and make exercises and lessons to cover the exact content they are struggling with the most. I love to see the joy on my students faces when they grasp a concept that they previously had trouble. I also make sure to show each of my students study skills that have not only me the most but previous students as well.
