I have a love for organizing anything and everything in my life! I also place a huge emphasis on planning ahead and am always prepared for the good, the bad and the ugly. These two obsessions combined have saved me in many situations, especially now that I live in the illustrious NYC!

About Me

I am a Nevada native currently living in NYC to pursue my Master's in School Counseling at NYU. I received my Bachelor's in Education in Art from the University of Nevada, Reno and am certified as an Art teacher in the state of New Jersey. This upcoming school year I will be interning as a school counselor, and following graduation in May 2015 I hope to find a career in the field.

This past semester I was a tutor with America Reads and Counts, which entailed working with the students of my designated classroom during the school day. Prior to this I tutored in after school programs while I was pursuing my undergraduate degree, and was also a substitute teacher. Between my teaching and tutoring experience I have worked with students in grades K-12, as well as students with all different skill levels.

As a tutor I focus on the student and their needs because each and every one of them is unique. What works for one student may or may not work for another, therefore it is important to tailor learning to suit the individual. Three things that I do believe every student needs are positivity, enthusiasm and praise.
