Fun Facts
I have been involved in sports my entire life. Anyone that knows me can see that I am an athlete and enjoy playing any sport, from football and basketball to hunting and fishing. I was born and raised in Missoula, Montana before pursuing further education at the University of Utah. Aside from sports, I also play the guitar, travel any chance I can get, and I like to try my hand at cooking.
About Me
I am a senior studying chemistry with an emphasis in biology at the University of Utah. After three years of school, my overall GPA is 3.831 and my major GPA is 3.777. I joined the Sigma Chi Fraternity in the fall of 2011. I was also a valedictorian of my high school, Missoula Sentinel, graduating with a GPA of 4.0. I was a captain of the football and rugby teams in high school. After college I hope to attend either graduate school for biochemistry or medical school. My goal is to earn my PhD or become a surgeon.
Although I have never received compensation for tutoring, I have always given my time to helping others in school. I was a member of the Honors Society in my high school, in which we were available to help students that requested. As a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, there have always been students around me that have requested my help in different subjects, mostly math and chemistry. I have also coached children in many different sports.
Throughout my education, I have been able to understand subject matter without further explanation. However, through my classes and tutoring, I have seen how frustrated a student can become from not understanding. As a tutor, my responsibility is to help a student understand the subject, not simply get their homework finished. I have found that guidance and a personal connection is the best way to get a student to understand and become enthusiastic about learning new subject matter.
