Fun Facts
I come from the stars. My biggest problem is that I'm interested in too many things and that mosquitoes love to bite me more than others for some reason. I have a problem with developing new hobbies too quickly. Currently they include, frisbee, longboarding, computer games, learning Japanese, playing chess, creating a mobile app, playing violin and guitar, and continuous self-actualization.
About Me
I am a junior Management major at McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Upon graduation, with my all-powerful college degree, I plan to vagabond and hitchhike around the world and experience everything it has to offer me, existentially. Ironic, but true; the system teaches revocation of itself. I supposed ingenuity is the right word. =D
While a junior at Memorial High School, I started my own home austin">tutoring business. I tutored 5 different client families or more at a given time and also hired austin">tutors to austin">tutor for me. I tutored kids from K-12 mainly in math but also did other subjects depending on their homework needs. After I went to college I sold my company to a friend who continues to run the business for me to this day.
My austin">tutoring philosophy really depends on the student that I'm austin">tutoring because everyone is different and their pace of learning and comprehension differs as well. Some kids get things pretty quickly and just need extra clarification on this they learn in school. Other kids need more careful attention and need many different approaches to comprehend one concept. I think the most important thing to do is show the students that you are actively invested in their success and learning, thus becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy, and they will in return be more attentive and focused on their own work and success as well. Fostering the right attitude towards learning is very important. Positive reinforcement for comprehension and acquisition of new knowledge is vital for long term success of the students and inevitably our society as a whole.
