Fun Facts

I enjoy anything that relates to astronomy and regularly volunteer at the SFSU Observatory and Planetarium. When I'm not studying or working, I craft hand-sown pillows and small toys, as well as collecting coins from around the world. I am also a huge nerd, so I enjoy playing video games, board games, and card games such as Magic the Gathering.

About Me

I am an undergraduate student in my Junior year at San Francisco State University majoring in Physics with a concentration in Astrophysics. I am currently leading a small research project concerning light pollution in city skies, apart of group of students researching exoplanets, and I am a Physics and Astronomy Club officer. Once I finish my B.S. I plan to attend a PhD program and see where my field takes me.

I have previously tutored a small group of high school students while apart of the International Baccalaureate and Advance Placement Program, in the subjects of IB/AP History, IB Math, AP Stats, and IB Film. As a part of the IB Bridge program I tutored at a local middle school where I worked with students on homework and studying skills. On a college level I have tutored individuals in subjects like Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Astronomy, General Physics, General Physics with Calculus, as well as Calculus I. As a tutor with Frog Tutoring during my first season of tutoring I tutored an elementary school student with mathematics, a high school student with trigonometry, pre-calculus, and statistics as well as a college student for ACT prep.

I am able to help students on a variety of subjects because of my previous experience and I have worked with students ranging from elementary to college. I grew up in a family where my dad was a preschool teacher for twenty years and my mom has her Doctorate in Early Childhood Education, and is the current Director, Chair, and Professor of a Child Development Department. Working with children and teaching adults comes easy to me after growing up with parents that worked with kids and taught adults everyday. Those who I have previously tutored have benefited greatly and have loved working with me. I have brought a handful of students up from a failing grade to B's and A's for which those individuals were very happy and proud that they came that far!
