Fun Facts
I am fascinated by about every academic field you can name, though my passion is math and science. I love learning about people and sharing stories. I enjoy walking so much, I actually have a goal to walk across the United States, meeting new people and trying new things as I go.
About Me
I am a Chemistry Major at the University of Utah, carrying a 3.8 in the Honors Program. I plan to pursue higher education and receive my Ph. D. in Chemistry or Archaeology, with the hopes of ultimately being a Chemical Anthropologist or Pharmaceutical Researcher.
While attending Sky View High School, I took the opportunity to volunteer to tutor students struggling in Geometry and Algebra. I spent one to two days a week helping a handful of students one on one for half hour to hour sessions, accumulating about 25-30 hours over the course of my senior year. I have also volunteered to tutor people in a few other sessions through the years, as well as lead study groups in preparation for tests and projects.
I am enthralled by new and exciting things, and try to bring that feeling of fascination into my tutoring by encouraging a positive learning atmosphere. I find that relating the subject to things that the student is familiar with and enjoys allows them to more fully comprehend and even discover the answer for themselves. I provide examples to extend clarity and explain study techniques that help the student perform in the classroom, not just with their homework.
