Fun Facts
I love to work with my hands - especially following schematics to assemble something - whether new furniture, sewing/quilting, knitting/crocheting, toys, and puzzles, or taking things apart to put them back together again.
About Me
I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2014 with a minor in my favorite subject - Math. I haven't given up on graduate school, I'm aiming for a Ph.D. in Data Analytics. I've been married for 5 years, no kids yet. My husband will be very grateful when there is someone else to listen to my passionate explanation of mathematical concepts!
Experience
In Middle School and High School, I tutored through NJHS and NHS. While dual enrolled at lamar-university">Lamar University I volunteered as a classroom assistant in a local bilingual grammar school.
Approach
I have learned through my experience with other, more math-phobic, students, that often the best course of action is not to tackle the particular homework or exam review that is presented. Rather- starting from the beginning of the concept, even all the way to the fundamentals of the class, whether a quick review or a complete overhaul. Students who struggle with math need to rebuild their confidence in the subject.
