Fun Facts
I love singing and I spent three years of high school in a varsity choir. I also love to travel and explore new places. My favorite so far is Costa Rica! You'll also learn pretty quickly that I love cats. I have two kitty cats named Nova and Naiya and they are my angels!
About Me
I am a freshman Sociology major at Fordham University. Before college, I spent two years in the National Honors Society and graduated with a rank of 267 in my class of 1604 students. After I receive my Bachelor of Arts, I hope to attend Fordham Law School to attain my Juris Doctorate and became a movement lawyer.
Experience
As a former member of Peer Assistance and Leadership, I have two years of experience leading classes on interpersonal skills and self-help for ninth graders, mentoring elementary and middle school students with behavioral issues and/or intellectual disabilities, and training new members.
Approach
I spent most of my K-8 years feeling alienated and bullied by my peers. So, schoolwork became a major distraction for me, and I invested most of my time into my education. Looking back on my formative years, I realize that what I really needed was a friend. I now feel the responsibility to not only help students with their schoolwork but also provide emotional support. Through mentoring, I learned that forming a bond with students and mentees encourages their growth and motivation.
