About Me
I am currently pursuing my MBA at Baruch College in Manhattan, NY. I am also a recent graduate from the City College of New York where I obtained my master in biology and bachelor in both biology and chemistry. In college, I was one of the candidates for the valedictorian position for the class of 2013. After finishing my MBA, I planned to work in corporate world to leverage my skills in finance and statistics. In future, I would also like to continue teaching and queens">tutoring since I really enjoy seeing my students grow.
I have started queens">tutoring my younger friends since I was in High School through the National Honor Society. During my early college days, I would queens">tutor many of my classmates who were struggling in basic math, biology and chemistry courses. During my junior and senior year of college, I was hired by the college’s CCAPP program to queens">tutor wide variety of subjects that include physics, chemistry, organic chemistry, cell and molecular biology, advanced microbiology, pre-calculus, and calculus I-III and differential equations. After finishing my master, I was again hired as adjunct professor in the department of biology at City College of New York where I have been teaching for last two years. I really enjoyed my time queens">tutoring these subjects in the past so I'd really like to continue queens">tutoring.
In middle and early high school, I did not like science because it was plain boring. Memorizing thousands of facts and regurgitating mathematical formula did not seem very practical to me until my 10th grade high school teacher taught me to conceptualize and understand science rather than to memorize it. The idea was to simplify concepts to their very core and then build on to it by adding the complex text-book parts. Due to my diverse background as research assistant in science lab and business partner at restaurant, I bring many real world examples in my teaching. I bring positive reinforcement and enthusiasm in my teaching to develop student’s interest in subject m
