I am a performer at heart. In high school I was involved in color guard as well as theater and I have been involved in theater at Fresno Pacific for the last four years. This last spring I performed in The Sound of Music and it was one of the best experiences in my life. I am also highly involved in ministry and have traveled across the US and California following this passion.

About Me

I just graduated from fresno-pacific-university">Fresno Pacific University with a BA in English and Contemporary Christian Ministries. I am also Certified in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I graduated Magma Cum Laude. I am attending Fuller Theological Seminary in the fall to pursue my Masters in Divinity with the ultimate goal of being involved in youth ministry.

For the last two years I have been a writing tutor at fresno-pacific-university">Fresno Pacific University. I worked with 18 to 20 college freshman one on one on a weekly basis to improve their writing skills. I recently held a temporary writing tutor position at the Visalia Regional Center for Fresno Pacific where I helped adults coming back to college with their writing. I also work with Care Fresno where I run an after school program and help elementary school kids with homework. Frog Tutoring would help me improve my tutoring skills and give me more experience.

My tutoring approach involves explaining to the students why they have something wrong. I do not just correct their mistakes without telling them why they are wrong. If they know why they messed up they are less likely to mess up in the future. I also like to find acronyms or song that will help them remember the material that they have to learn. Also finding more than one way to explain things is helpful because every student is different and some have to have it explained in a different way to get it. I also try to personally get to know my students and connect with them. Often times once students get a better grasp on what they need and where they are going with a project it calms them down. I try to help them get to a place where they can grasp concepts better by explaining projects and helping them organize them.
