Fun Facts
A huge passion of mine is traveling and embracing the local culture while working with the native wildlife. I've been to Australia to work with turtles on the Great Barrier Reef and also working with kangaroos in the outback. We learn so much about ourselves when we are out of our comfort zones.
About Me
My life has been a "jack of all trades" ranging from being a food server, to an advocate for the d/Deaf, working graveyard shift as an Emergency Veterinary Technician, and to being an Instructor at a local community college.
Experience
As a deaf person who can sign and speak, I've been fortunate to be able to work in both the hearing and deaf world without the normal constraints. Since I have the ability to work and communicate in both worlds, I've been able to help bridge the gap between deaf and hearing so we can all work together since we are all people who simply want to connect with others.
Approach
Due to having a broad experience in careers and education, I have a very unique perspective on learning and have had to adapt to my situation and surroundings. With that being said, it helps me be flexible to others and able to alter my approach to best accommodate different learning styles. It brings me great joy to see the "light bulb go off" when someone understands a concept and that drives me to work with a person in a way that is best for them.
